Gather was born from a simple moment — the McElhaney family sitting around their kitchen table with their six children, talking about the future. From that conversation came a vision: to create a place without labels or pressure, where everyone feels comfortable the moment they walk in. No worrying about which fork to use — just a space that feels like home.

For Chris, Beth, and their family, the table has always been where life happens. It’s where they’ve shared love, laughter, and the everyday moments that matter most — what they call food and family. They wanted to create a place that brings people back to that feeling, especially in a world that’s always moving too fast.

At Gather, everything is meant to feel easy and genuine — including the food. There’s no over-the-top techniques or complicated dishes, just real, comforting meals made with care. They take familiar, home-style recipes and add a thoughtful chef’s touch, creating something special that still feels like it’s made for everyone at the table.

They focus on using fresh, local ingredients whenever possible, while also bringing in unique flavors to keep things interesting. Since opening, their dedication has paid off — including being recognized with Alabama’s Best Beef award in 2020 — with even more goals ahead.
