About Rick's White Light Diner

Rick’s White Light Diner is located next to the “Singing Bridge” in Frankfort, Kentucky, within walking distance to art galleries, shops, The Grand Theatre, and venues for outdoor summer concerts and art walks. The diner was built in 1943 and remains as Frankfort’s oldest restaurant. Whether you take a seat at a table or dine at the counter, the close quarters allow for patrons to chat with one another, and most often with Chef Rick! In the summer, patrons can enjoy lunch on the patio.

The White Light Diner stands apart not just because of its size and memorabilia decorating the walls and ceiling.  The food is spectacular and unlike anything you’ll find in this neck of the woods.  Chef Rick Paul has truly captured perfection with his take on popular Cajun and Creole dishes.  Of course his training and talent are essential to the formula for this culinary splendor, but Chef Paul believes in utilizing local farmers’ products and only purchases seafood in the United States.  With these quality ingredients, the location, and the chef (who is sometimes the show), you simply have to experience Rick’s White Light Diner to understand how truly special it is.
