Back in 1980 I started working as a dishwasher at the Silent Woman Restaurant in Waterville, Maine. All during high school and college I worked in the food service industry. Loading trucks at a warehouse, dishwasher at the House of Pancakes. Cooking, waiting tables and management for various other restaurants like Pizza Hut, Bun ‘n’ Burger and other family run restaurants throughout the northeast.

In 1988 I met my wife Kellyann at one of those restaurants in New Jersey. A few years later I left the industry and began a career in public safety building and maintaining 9-1-1 systems. It was a good career and allowed us to raise our kids here in Maine, however, I always wanted to have my own restaurant.
In 2019 we sold our house in China, Maine and moved to Eustis where we owned a home. A couple months later the Looney Moose Cafe became available and after long discussions with the family we decided to go for it. I resigned from my career of over 25 years and took the plunge. We opened on September 14th 2019.

The result was overwhelming, customers loved the home cooked meals, and our own recipes for pastries, pancakes and more. Our portions are generous and we try to keep prices reasonable. We had some challenges but our loyal customers are so supportive. If you haven’t tried us out, please stop in, we are sure you’ll be pleased.
