In 1951, Bruno immigrated to Indiana from his home in Switzerland. He worked in the restaurant industry in South Bend and later opened the first Bruno's Pizza in West Lafayette in 1955. His brother-in-law Frank started the Oxford location of Bruno's in 1963; current owners Brooks and Aryn are now third-generation owners.
