About Kendall's

Our story began in Purcell, Oklahoma, when Brenda Mantooth opened a cafe named after her first grandchild, Kendall, born that same month. Known throughout the area for her love of cooking and feeding people, Brenda quickly became a beloved figure in the community.

In 1990, the restaurant found its current home when Brenda’s daughter Kim and longtime friend Dee Downer purchased it. United by a passion for traditional cooking and family, Kim and Dee nurtured the business, expanding both the menu and the building. Today, the walls are filled with pieces of Oklahoma history, making Kendall’s both a restaurant and a museum.

While the space has grown, the food has stayed true to its roots. Every chicken fried steak is hand-breaded to order, every burger is hand-pattied with fresh ground beef, and fresh cinnamon rolls are baked daily to finish every meal. At Kendall’s, “You are at our house, and dessert comes with supper.” We believe food has the power to transport us back in time to the people and moments we cherish most. Our favorite compliment? “This tastes just like I remember.”
