The Sinkhole Saloon & Grille, located within the Palmyra Bowling Center, is a proud family-owned and operated business with deep roots in the Palmyra community. Originally purchased in 1981 by Doug and Sue Eiserman, the once struggling bowling alley was transformed under Doug’s leadership into a thriving hub for local entertainment and recreation. A passionate bowler himself, Doug brought energy, vision, and dedication that helped shape the center into a beloved destination for families and sports enthusiasts alike.
The business has always reflected strong family values, supported wholeheartedly by Doug and Sue’s daughters—Beth, Christine, and Amy. In 1998, Amy officially joined the operation, taking on the role of general manager at the bowling center. She now oversees day-to-day operations and coordinates the nationally recognized Dutchman Bolony Bowling Tournament, which attracts participants from all corners of the country.
In 2008, the Eiserman family expanded their venture by opening The Sinkhole Saloon & Grille, which proudly became the first bar in North Londonderry Township—ending the town's longstanding dry status. This expansion also marked the return of daughter Christine, following her distinguished military service. She took on management of the restaurant and, together with Amy, cultivated a welcoming and family-friendly dining experience that quickly became a favorite in the community.
After Doug’s passing in 2022, Sue and Amy have continued his legacy with unwavering dedication, maintaining the high standards and family-first approach that defined the business from the start.
Today, The Sinkhole Saloon is known not only for its lively atmosphere and community ties but also for its diverse and delicious menu. Guests can enjoy a wide selection of homemade comfort food, including 25 flavorful wing varieties, handcrafted burgers, and four irresistible types of mac and cheese.
Through the years, the Eiserman family has remained committed to supporting local schools, community events, and charitable initiatives—continuing Doug and Sue’s vision of blending great food, fun, and community spirit all under one roof.
