About Gertie's

Just miles from I-81 and the Blue Ridge Parkway, you will find Gertie’s nestled into the bottom of the Appalachian mountains along Route 56. The building was built in the late 1940’s and was known as Bradley’s, which was a Country Store with a gas pump. It later evolved into Gertie’s Country Store in 1998. People from all over the country and even the world stopped in and wanted to sign a guest book, and so the signatures on the wall began.

Jake and Kaylee Griffin bought Gertie’s in July, 2019 and reopened on August 9, 2019. In July of 2020, they welcomed their son, Levi, into the world.

The Griffin’s are passionate about the American Dream and continuing the tradition of a small, family run, mom and pop store. They continuously put in a lot of hard work and take pride in what they do everyday. They want to make sure you have the best experience possible and will go out of their way to make that happen. They genuinely appreciate the support from the community, family and friends that have helped to make their dreams come true.
