About Harvester Restaurant

Since opening its doors in February 1982, the Harvester Restaurant has built a reputation for providing a relaxed, welcoming dining experience where every guest feels right at home. What began as the vision of three close friends and entrepreneurs—Bill Schieche of Spangle’s Bill’s Service, Jay Wernz from the Bank of Fairfield, and local farmer John Holling—quickly became a beloved gathering place in the community.

Under their leadership, the Harvester thrived for nearly two decades, becoming known not only for its warm, gracious service but also for its comfortable atmosphere where friendships were forged over great food. In July 2001, the restaurant changed hands, with Mike and Cheryl Didier stepping in to carry on its legacy.

Just a couple of years later, in April 2003, Frank DeLis and his son Aaron took over ownership, investing in the restaurant by updating the décor and modernizing the kitchen—efforts that refreshed the Harvester’s look while maintaining the welcoming vibe its guests had come to love.

Then, in June 2008, Melissa and Brent Bozarth began their chapter in the Harvester’s history. With enthusiasm, dedication, and a wealth of experience, Melissa set out to continue the tradition of exceptional food and friendly, efficient service. Her vision is clear: to run the restaurant with heart and to one day pass it down to her two sons, keeping the Harvester family-owned for generations to come.
