About Gasthaus Cardi

Welcome to Cardi’s Gasthaus, where every dish tells a story rooted in tradition and family heritage. Our menu features authentic recipes from Cardi’s native region of Germany, lovingly passed down through generations by her mother and Omi (grandmother). Born in Bad Nauheim, Germany, Cardi came to America at the age of six with her mother and stepfather. Shortly after, her Omi joined them, playing a pivotal role in preserving the true German way of life—especially through cooking, with Cardi learning by her side.

Later, as an adult, Cardi married an Army Warrant Officer and helicopter pilot, which brought them back to Germany for three tours. These experiences enriched her culinary repertoire, adding flavors and dishes from Bavaria to her family’s original Hessian roots. Cardi also continues to visit her sister in their family home in Bad Nauheim, blending both old traditions and fresh inspirations into our menu.
